Run Through: 1. Installed PSU wrong
In the end I find a lot of this quit comical here is a “computer guy” who thinks he knows a lot about computers gets knocked out of his realm and then fails to man up and let the client know that “hey man these parts are way out of my league” Instead he made a fool out of himself trying to mess with it.
7. Has no clue about newer computer parts.
8. Take 3-4 days to get an email response back (when in communications w. him)
Sooo…. What is all boils down to is Computer was built wrong. I could sue for replacement parts but chosen not to. 50% of the reason Dan doesn’t use receipts or any tangible contract only word of mouth another shady business practice.
This is my encounter with him. So take it at your own chance.
9. After I sent him an email to him explaining to him how he installed fan wrong and thermal pastes waste even applied he started to ignoring my emails.
On another note. "dr" Dan does not have a quick response time to his email, about 3-4 days per email. Since I have told him all these issues with my computer he has stop answering my emails all together.
5. Never applied thermal pastes
If you have anything newer he is out of his realm.
In his defense when I first started having fan issues he told me to bring it in (free of charge), which I did. After only 30min he said a fan bearing was the issue and that I needed a new one. He also could not find the issue with the cpu temp. Basically left me high n dry at that point.
10. There was never any tangible written document about our arrangement. No signed . contract of any sorts just word of mouth, another shady business practice.
6. Never installed the Ram fans
3. installed FAN wrong which fried wires which killed the fan
4. Doesn't even know what thermal pastes is
If you’re looking for work on ancient/old computers, then this guy can help.
2. Installed psu wrong which fried mother board.
TRUE issues: My computer was installed wrong. Because of fan the socket was placed in the 4 socket instead of the 8. Because Dan did that it causes a shortage in the wiring on fan, which in turn started to have faulty fan issues and cpu tempters.
I spent over 3k on custom computer parts for a custom computer. With all new parts. Within the first month the PSU was installed incorrectly which fried and fried the MB. Parts and labor to have it fixed was over 400 (mb alone was 250). A few months later I have a nasty fan issue loud with a fan error. With a cpu temp issue. Come to find out Dr. Dan had installed the fan wrong as well. New fans have to use the 8 socket plug in NOT the 4 Dan put it in the 4 which fried the fan due to not having enough power. Also I have had Ram fans that he didn’t even install. For newer computers that are gaming computers they need that extra. He also never put thermal pastes on, He didn't even know what thermal pastes was!!
– A little piece of humble pie doesn’t hurt Dan
